By TASTE of course, from March 9th to 11th this year by Stazione Leopolda ( it was the first train station of Florence opened in 1841 , no more in use at the present but just for events,meetings and fairs) close to the river Arno.
Here we can find a choice of the ‘niche products’ from all over Italy (this is the 8th edition with 280 exibitors) , not just food but also wines,chocolate,biscuits,balsamic vinagre,ham and stockfish,salmon and cheese , truffles, bakery home brewers and furthermore cookbooks , books about food and wine, table & kitchen designer objects .
A restaurant inside the fair allows to eat in a special glamouros setting .
A real ‘ ring’ in the same open space hosts prize giving chefs and launches the new food trends : cake design and new pizza era are two of the most topic
At the end of the ‘food tour’ as it is written over the stalls, you will find a shop where can buy al the products you tasted.
OUT OF TASTE, ( nice to know play upon words in Italian the meaning is out of mind = a bit foolish !) is the event ‘out of the fair ‘ in the Florence’s heart
theme tasting sessions and dinners by restaurants,cafè, hotels, boutiques ,art galleries, theatres and museums offer a huge choice of happenings on the food’s trail, they celebrate it as a big feast all over the area and this town is the perfect location indeed..
