MadeinPistoia : visiting some of the greenhouses’ industry

Last week I had the pleasure to visit some nurseries in the suburb of Pistoia in occasion of the international meeting ‘Vestire il paesaggio’

http://www.vestireilpaesaggio.provincia.pistoia.it
about floriculture & nurseries in Pistoia area .

My passionate guide was Gilberto Stanghini – vice president of the nursery industry association – who showed our group , (which was made of gardens’ designers, journalists, blogger coming from all over Europe ), three different size of nursery to let us know how a nursery can be .

The first one was a middle size one, the second was the smallest one and the last was the biggest where we have been invited for a good Tuscan lunch .
The other two also offered us a genuine welcome with typical food tasting ( from homemade limoncello and a delicius “arancello” made with their own fruits cultivated in the nursery to cherries and melon and focaccia bread).

Each of them was very interesting for different reasons and everyone explained us how they started, what they are producing and where are exporting, how they recycle, their attention to the evironment.

So I wish to share some pictures with you now ,
enjoy!
