Macarons: Italian origins ?

Did you know the renowned French ‘macarons’ comes from the Italian ‘maccheroni’ That is a kind Of pasta’s shape ?

I was curious to know why they have been called with Such an unkind name That reminds me How The Italians were called at The beginning Of last century by the inhabitans Of The Countries Where they were immigrated .

So …The name comes from Italy as Caterina dei Medici ( born in Florence , Tuscany )imported The receipe from Italy when she moved to France to marry Henry II Of France in 1533 and then to become Queen of France.

More recentely by Ladurée Patisserie le maître Pierre Desfontaines created them with The shape and The taste we know them nowadays .
