Had the pleasure to be invited to dine by this small restaurant ( just 20 seats ) in the city center of Prato just close to the City Hall square in occasion of a BlogTour planned & lead by Armando Alibrandi named SaporiDiPrato & GustaPrato , in English : Tastes of Prato & TastePrato .
Open last November by Renzo Bellandi , it offers only top quality food products coming from the area , just small producers of excellent ingredients you couldn’t find in the supermarket.
The location is simple as a trattoria has to be but decored with original kind of paintings made of particular wool’s tools & fabrics just to remember where you are : in Prato , a district that is in fact an important city very well known all over the world for its texile factories.
Receipes are very traditional of the area ( so different from my birthplace Pistoia !althought it is just few kilometres far from it ) so I could try the fried celeries filled with meat in the Prato way – cooked in tomato & meat sauce , very tasty! ) a great Mortadella from Prato( another I.G.T. top quality cold cut ) , a fresh blue cheese from the local hills & a good homemade panna cotta topped with black chocolate handmade it too.
Many beautiful books about food specialities & receipes from Prato give me the possibility to find out different ones & really appreciated the a relaxing time reading them & its photos.
The menu changes everyday offering interesting choices for everyone tastes and a good wine lists is available too with some wines from the nearby Tuscan hills ,of course.
The name “Megabono “in Italian slang , especially among youngest , means : really very very good and I ….can confirm it too! 😋👍👏
