In the heart of Tuscany, in Pistoia my birthplace, you could find the beautiful silent cloister where there are the wild oranges’ plants. It is not open to the public as they are enclosed nuns.Behind it there is the third biggest dome in Italy after those of Rome and Florence.
The secret is not to leave on the skin the white side as it is the bittest part of the fruit. The Benedectine nuns make two kind of marmelade : one with thicker cut and one with thinner ones. I tried both and can assure you that they are extremely tasty and delicate .
Really couldn’t believe Benedectine nuns in Pistoia were taken the pectine directly from they oranges’seeds , instead of buying it at the supermarket as usually I do , and you do too, I’m sure! /p>
